Vanessa Hudgens - "Spring Breakers" Press Conference

Back again! Less than an hour later, what did I tell you?

Vanessa Hudgens wore this cute outfit to a press conference for her film Spring Breakers.

Hudgens' style usually is a hit-or-miss with me. Sometimes she can look amazing but then sometimes she gets it very, very wrong. She's scrubbed up very well for this press event, looking professional and very much in time for spring.

I'm afraid to say I haven't been able to find the designers of her outfit but there are a multitude of floral dresses on the market. A wee fave was this French Connection dress on Asos.

However, the colour isn't that similar, plus this dress is in the £75+ region, which is extortionate compared to this next wee bargain...

This dress is from A/Wear Ireland and is half price at £12!

Hudgens wears pointed nude heels with a white tip. I'm gonna rely on good ol' Asos once more for these Proxy heels which are a fair £30.

I don't normally find jewellry but I thought I'd give this one a bash since we've got over half the budget left to use. Hudgens appears to wear oval earring with a blue gem.

Now you can buy any number of dangly earrings in any high street store, and that's fine. I decided to find something with a bit more quality. These are Kendra Scott earrings from Nordstrom (free shipping to the UK!). They translate to £40.61, and you can get them in a range of colours if the blue is not your style.

So £12 dress, £30 shoes and £40.61 earrings... £82.61!

Much love,

Julianne Hough at the Berlin premiere of "Safe Haven"

Hello again...

I've got burst of writing energy so expect a lot of posts over the next few days.

Now I saw this picture of Julianne Hough a couple of days ago and I love her Zuhair Murad dress.

I tried to find a match but got nowhere. So I sighed and left this one alone.
Then when I was on the browse for ANOTHER dress for a different celeb, I came across this New Look dress.

Yes I know it's not that similar to Hough's, but it's the closest I've seen by far. And it's £26.99 and will hardly break the bank. You could remove the patent black belt and tie a ribbon or black tie around your waist instead,

Hough is wearing black Brian Atwood heels so I suggest sticking with New Look again and go with these black courts for £24.99.
Although personally, instead of just a plain shoe, how about these other New Look courts with a mesh panelling. I think it helps carry off the Parisian theme of the dress. And it's the same price as the first pair.

So £26.99 for the dress and £24.99 for the shoes... £51.98. Almost half the budget! Not mad for being unable to find a match three days ago.

Much love,

Josephine

It's my blog and I'll talk about the Oscars if I want to!

I know, I know, I’ve been away from the blog for a while. We all knew what I’m like.
But it has gotten to my favourite time of the year for fashion; the Academy Awards. And I’ve got a lot of opinions about this year’s lot so I decided that there’s no better than my blog devoted to fashion. I know that this isn’t the normal procedure for my post, and I’m not going to find cheaper matches for you (at least not now) but I don’t care so suck it up.
Overall, the dresses last night were pretty phenomenal. True, there weren’t many surprises. Everyone stuck to their favourite style, designer or colour palette. But these favourites work for a reason; they can’t go wrong. And the Oscars is the last place you want to go wrong.

It’s hard to pick my favourite but I think Naomi Watts steals it for me in the GORGEOUS custom-made statement dress by Georgio Armani.

I literally feel like she’s kicking me in the heart with this dress. The cut, the colour... I love it all too much.

My next favourite is Olivia Munn. I was hoping someone would wear something like this! The red and gold Marchesa gown is dramatic but not overwhelming.

I actually really like Jennifer Garner’s Gucci dress. I’ve always loved magneta and the colour suits her perfectly.

And I’m so glad it has the large ruffle at the bag because otherwise it might be deemed boring. I also think it’s a very suitable dress, for Garner, considering she’s there to support her husband and doesn’t want to outshine him.

From one Jennifer to the next!  I LOVE this dress. I don’t love it as a style choice, I love it because it’s funny! It’s literally like Jennifer Lawrence just went “Dammit, I’m going to the Oscars and I’LL DRESS LIKE A PRINCESS IF I WANT TO!”

Halle Berry’s style has always been an iffy one for me but I think she definitely brought it last night.

This Versace number suits her so well. Berry has never been afraid of print or detail so this sequined, striped dress is right up her alley.

Now onto the “don’t” of last night. I thought the calibre last night was quite high and even the worst dressed aren’t that bad, they are just not as good as they could have been.

Ann Hathaway surprised no one by wearing this pale pink Prada dress. It’s pretty and all, but it’s a bit boring, and we’ve seen Hathaway in this kind of thing before. She could also have used some tit tape.

Salma Hayek was probably the only surprise. She wore this blue velvet Alexander McQueen dress with a choker neckline and gold embellishment.

This is very “eh” for me.  With Hayek, I’m always expecting va-va-voom but props for trying something different. I think it would just have looked better on someone without Hayek’s curves.

And finally, dear Helen Hunt.

Now when I think of Helen Hunt, I never think of her fashion choices. I doubt anyone does. But God, couldn’t she have had her assistant give this dress a good steam or iron? But hey, the colour’s nice and she’ll probably be the first person to have worn a H&M (!) gown to the Oscars.
