Taylor Swift - Sydney

Taylor Swift is another celeb that I can imagine blogging a lot about. Her overall style tends to be very simple and classic, from neat, sparkly dresses to just a simple shirt and trouser combo. The following image is no exception.

Image via Just Jared

Taylor was out shopping in Sydney wearing maroon trousers, a light white shirt, Rayban wayfarers, black brogues and the same brown satchel she was pictured wearing a few days before.

To start of, I found these maroon trousers from Mango. They are cropped and have zips on hemline and are £34.99.

For the billowy shirt, I'm suggesting this one from Firetrap. It is surprisingly cheap for only £12.

(Apologies for the picture clarity)

You can pretty much get brogues anywhere, however, there is this black patent pair from Cloggs for £19.99.

I love looking for accessories because I spend most of my time looking for matches for clothes and there tends to be more variety in the accessories department. For Taylor's sunglasses, I didn't want to go for a cheap pair from New Look or what have you, I wanted to go for something with a bit more quality. I'm suggesting Mango again (New favourite brand I think) and there's this pair from £22.99.

So the trousers are £34.99, the top is £12, the brogues are £19.99 and the sunglasses are £22.99 so this all adds up £89.97!

Getting all the images to work has been a bitch today, so much so, I had to change items a few times because they just didn't want to be featured. So appreciate the hard work, blood sweat and tears that went into this post :)

Much love,

Miranda Kerr - New York... again.

I'm sorry for talking about Miranda Kerr so soon after last time but she's too damn cute to ignore.

She was photographed in New York on Saturday wearing a neat white shirt tucked into a black mini, with a denim jacket over the shirt. She accessorized with a print handbag, grey ankle boots and a cute fedora.

I've become quite fond of Mango since doing research for this blog and they do a nice little denim jacket, currently half price for £22.50.

Now the the white shirt, there's a nice on from George in Asda for only a tenner. It's got a cute, almost peter pan style collar.
Miranda's skirt looks like it's velvet, but I hate velvet so I'm going with this flared number from Red Herring for Debenhams. A £15 steal.

For the grey suede boots, I've gone for these New Look laced ones for £18.74.

Now a fedora is bloody hard to find at this time of year, particularly one that fits in the rest of our budget.  I've had to settle for this one from Mark's and Spencer's for £19.50. It's certainly not a bad alternative, and the model sure is pretty!

So how much did all that take up in my £100 budget?
The Mango jacket is £22.50;
The George shirt is £10;
The skirt was £15 and the boots were £18.74.
And the Marks and Sparks hat finishes it off for £19.50.
All together, that makes £85.74.

So far I'm not doing too shabby with this budget business :)

Much love,

Britney Spears - X Factor USA results show

I saw the X Factor US show in ITV 2 last night, because there wasn't much else on and I saw Britney Spears and I thought, "Wow! She looks really good!"
I love Britney as a person and an artist, but her fashion has never been to my taste, but I loved the structured red dress she wore with the square neckline.

It was surprisingly hard to find a picture online of her whole outfit...

I don't know who designed it but it looks like a Victoria Beckham dress. She also wore a gold cuff style bracelet on her sleeve.

Now there are a number of good matches out there. There's this one from Asos for £35.

But I'm always suggesting outfits from Asos so I wanted to offer somewhere different.

This dress is from the Amy Childs Collection for Lipsy and is £65. I'm ashamed to say I love this dress, for the same reason I love Victoria Beckham's designs. Simple and ladylike and unlikely to really go out of style.

I don't really offer jewellery but I thought I might as well find a nice gold cuff as well. Mango do a variety of cuffs ranging in price from a tenner and £30. This one is £9.99.

So £65 dress and £9.99 bracelet: £74.99!

Cheerio!
;)

Much love,

Taylor Swift - Tokyo, Japan

Taylor Swift landed at Narito Airport in Tokyo on Wednesday in this simple, preppy ensemble. She combined a light blue knitted jumper with tan fitted trousers and red velvet shoes. Her carry-on was a vintage-style brown satchel.

Most of these items are usually quite easy to find. The jumper I've chosen is from AustIn Reed and is £29.50, down from £59.

I love little jumpers like that!
For the trousers, I went with these ones from La Redoute for a cheery £14.50.

Even though I have fear of the material velvet, for the red shoes, I went for good ol' Topshop! They're £22 and have some embellishment in the shape of lips on the toes, which is quite cute.
Now you can get a brown satchel anywhere, so I chose to go for something a bit more quirky. This satchel, is from Jalvari, it's £29.99... and it's got polka-dots!

I have a huge crush on this bag. It reminds me of the quirkiness of the bags from The Cambridge Satchel Company but is half the price. The Jalvari bag also comes in red, green and grey so there's an option to suit your own taste.

Jumper; £29.50
Trousers; £14.50
Shoes; £22
Bag; £29.99

Total: £95.99

Happy days :)

Miranda Kerr in NYC

Now Miranda Kerr is one of those women that I wish I looked like. I mean, my GOD! How annoyingly sexy is she? No wonder she's a VS model and married to Orlando Bloom and practically the envy of women everywhere.

Anyway...

Miranda looked uber-delicious on Monday where she was papped on Madison Avenue wearing this foxy number. I think it's the Balenciaga snake-print skirt that gives it the oomph. You rarely see snake-print, people seem to be scared of it. The pencil skirt was statement piece so it made sense that the rest of her outfit was simple; a black chiffon top with sheer sleeves, black Lanvin heels and a Givenchy tote.

Now the best match I could find was this skirt from Mary Portas at House of Fraser;
Now I hope you'll excuse the different colour when I tell you the price. The original tag was £100. And then it went down to £70. And then it went down to £50! Half-price baby!

Now I'm sure you have a nice black top to throw with this skirt but just to be thorough, I've given the example of a black leotard from Boohoo.com and it's only £12!

Now for the tote, there are a number of options but I've decided to go for one from Dorothy Perkins for £25.

Now that only gave me £13 left for the shoes. Now I'm also sure you have a pair of nice black heel (they're like THE staple for every woman) but I have found a nice cheap pair from Debenhams for £12.50.

Now if those aren't to your liking, you could probably grab a pair in Primark for the same price.

So...

£50 skirt, £12 top, £25 bag and £12.50 shoes... this whole outfit for £99.50!

Don't mind if I do!

Much love,

Josephine x

A Reboost! And Hayden Panettiere...

What did I tell you? I'm not terribly good and keeping up with blogs. The last blog I had, I didn't update for a year. So 5 months isn't that bad in that case :)
I've changed the name of the blog because it was bothering me a bit. I didn't feel like Stylish-Echo really suited the blog, or me. So it is now called... Fashion-Echo!
I know, I know, not a massive improvement but enough of an improvement to keep me happy until I think of something better.

So I'm restarting this blog with an outfit from Hayden Panettiere.

I'm not that big a fan of Hayden. I haven't seen anything she's been in since Heroes but I have to admit, I'm a fan of this outfit. Hayden wore this sequinned number to the 2012 American Music Awards and while the designer is not known at this time, this seems to have been well received by fashion critics. In my opinion, the simplicity of the dress, the sweetheart neckline and the seemingly light fabric reminds me of a naked dress, like in Sex and The City. It just makes you think of sex!

This dress was difficult to match. For one thing, people are calling it silver, but it my view its more of a nude colour, hence the nakedness. Either way, I've come up with a few almost-matches.

This dress is from Very and is a reasonable £49. I like the dress on it's own but comparing it to Hayden's, it doesn't sit well. The cut is the most like Hayden's but the colour of the sequins, not so much. It is a pretty dress however.

Now this one I like the most. This is from Asos and is on sale for £30. I know it's strapless but its just as floaty and has the same style of neckline.

Now I found some shoes to match the last dress but for whatever reason, the image isn't uploading properly. They're from Debenhams, silver sequined peep-toes from Glitterati and they're only £25, and the additional bow is adorable. You can find them here.

So you can find an outfit as cute as Hayden's for a modest £55! Not too shabby, I think.

Much love!

Coco Rocha - Screening of "People Like Us"

Coco Rocha is fairly new on my radar and the majority of the time, I like her outfit choices, and this is one of them!
She attended an official screening of Dreamworks Studios' "People Like Us" in New York on the 25th June in pillar box red trousers and a delicate white blouse with a black neckline and ribbon (Regrettably, after some research, I was unable to find out where her outfit was from).

This look is incredibly easy to create yourself and is literally suitable for any occasion. Bold colour jeans are all the rage just now so I think it's nice to take the bold colour to a tailored trouser for a more sophisticated look.
The best trousers I found where these straight leg trousers from Mango and are a super-cheap price at £16.99.

For the top, I chose this chiffon blouse with a black pussybow. At the back, it has a straight black panel which I love!

This top is a little more pricey at £42 but no doubt, you would get a lot of use out of it! However, if it's too much for you to splurge on, there are pretty good matches in New Look and probably Primark!
Her shoes are barely seen so I'd imagine just some plain black heels which would help elongate your legs with those trousers.
And to finish, I'd even copy Rocha by wearing blood red lippy.

£16.99 + £42 = £58.99!

Much love,

Emma Stone - Empire State Building

by Getty Images

Emma Stone is another one of my style crushes, I don't think I've ever seen her in a bad outfit!
On June 25th, she and beau Andrew Garfield hit up the Empire State Building for a lighting ceremony where Stone wore a blue Carvin dress with button detail and a white peter pan neckline. She also paired the dress with nude Louboutins.

I found this similar dress in House of Fraser by Almost Fraser. Similar colour, similar neckline, and in the sale! £84 down from £120.

The following dress is also worth a mention. It's a lot less similar but a hell of a lot cheaper and I love the buttons!

The dress is from Boohoo.com and is a steal at £20! It's a lot less matronly and more tea party-esque than Stone's and can just as easily be paired with nude heels.

Nine West at John Lewis nude heels, £59.

Combine the first House of Fraser dress and these shoes will ultimately blow my budget, so I'm gonna cheat and combine the Boohoo dress and the shoes, where the outfit will cost £79, safely under the budget of £100.

Much love,

Josephine x

Mila Kunis - "Ted" premiere

    by Getty Images

Oh Mila Kunis, how I adore thee.
I love this Dior dress Kunis wore to the premiere of her film "Ted". The plunging, sheer neckline is sexy without being too much. I especially love that this dress has a bit of peplum. I love a bit of peplum I do!

This style if very popular at the moment and there are hundreds of similar black dresses with low necklines and cut outs, so I've gone for this Topshop dress.

It has a bigger plunge but bigger peplum and fitted skirt so you're not flashing everything your mother gave you. At at £46, for Topshop, I think that's quite reasonable.

The shoes were harder to find. Kunis wore Louboutins, naturally, that were a teal colour with lace detail. The   biggest match I could find were these Casadei shoes which are currently on sale at £105 from £165.

If I'm brutally honest, I'm not too keen on these shoes. I'm not a fan of teal lace altogether, and as you can see, I've blown the budget of £100!
Personally I think a nice simple red heel would have gone quite nicely with this dress. I've found these nice red court shoes from New Look for only £24.99. These shoes also have a nice subtle snake-skin pattern, which is a good detail and it's not too much to over-power the dress.
So combine the Topshop dress (£46) and the New Look heels (24.99) ...

£70.99!

Much Love,

Josephine x

Big Hi's and Hello's

Just before I begin and evidently forget all about this blog, I should probably introduce it!

This is Stylish-Echo, and the aim of this blog is to pick the best outfits and looks from celebs we love and then copy it to the best of our ability at a much cheaper price.

This blog combines many of my hobbies; fashion, celebs and shopping. My aim is to find echoing outfits at £100 or less. However after a bit of testing, I've found that trying to find matches at a super cheap price can be tricky. So if I fail to keep a copy of an outfit under a hundred quid, I promise to offer alternatives to the outfit. For example if I can't find cheap alternatives to a designer pair of shoes, I'll find shoes that look vaguely similar at super kind prices.

My track record with blogs hasn't been terribly successful but I'm hoping that this blog will change me!

Much love,

Josephine x
